THE TONGUES OF FIRE.

Acts 2:2-3;

"And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them CLOVEN TONGUES LIKE AS OF FIRE, and it sat upon each of them."

Key Message: A sermon that will generate impact and pierce the heart of men to repentance must be cooked by the heart that is on fire and released by the tongue sharpened with fire.

It is not all words that are potent enough to turn dry bones to mighty armies. Those who are on fire are the ones who can dish out fire. A lifeless and aimless message will definitely produce rebellious, confused and a self-gratifying congregation.

Tongues can be confused but fire can never be denied. The scripture says concerning the religious people at pentecost that "they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?" And others were mocking. Acts 2:12.

But after the preaching of Peter they were all absorbed in the fire. The scripture says "they were pricked in their hearts and said what shall we do?" We can't be a life giver as we were ordained to be unless we go back to pentecost to get back the tongue of fire given to us.

We are living in the most difficult time in the history of the world. It's the time where seducing spirits are vexing the Church and doctrines of the devil are rampant. The conscience of many believers are seared with a hot iron as prophesied in 1Tim.4:1-2.

It's only a life wire with electricity that can channel electric current from a source to where it's needed. Our tongue must be soaked with fire and trained to channel fire to the heart of men. Theology and philosophy can never change men. It's only a tongue of fire that can ignite life in others. I see God baptizing you afresh with the Holy Ghost and with fire. 

ASSIGNMENT

Practice praying in tongues for a minimum of 30 minutes everyday.

PRAYER

Father, baptize me afresh with power of the Holy Ghost and restore my tongue of fire.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION

I command whatever that is dead in you to come back to life. I decree the fire of the Holy Ghost to consume all chaff around you and strengthen you for exploits.
